Collegiate summer leagues bring college baseball players to communities across the United States and Canada. Instead of aluminum bats and collegiate rules, summer leagues use wooden bats and minor league rules. Scouts and spectators alike can see these young players compete under professional conditions.
Summer league players have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of eligibility remaining.
Summer league baseball depends on the community. From June to August, families house players, local businesses provide sponsorship, and members of the community work ticket booths and refreshment stands.
Many teams provide professional-level opportunities not just for players, but for college students in fields such as media, marketing, and design.
Every summer college students and athletes travel across the country to gain valuable experience in their chosen field. Where possible, Wood-Bat.com will record those players and staff members’ experience.
